Week 34
Father, it's been 2 weeks since my last confess.....Oops, wrong blog! :)
I have been lazy with this blog for the last couple weeks, so you get week 34 as remembered from week35.
Another OB appointment this week and no problems. This one was a little more interesting because we saw a nurse practitioner. I don't know how that office is structured, but it sure seemed the the nurse practitioner had a lot more time for us. It wasn't the, "Ok, heart's beating. See you in 2 weeks" that we've gotten used to. She spent a lot longer listening for the heartbeat and then stopped and asked us if we had any questions. Not only did she ask, but she waited for us to ask them! I liked that a lot better at this point. While I'm sure that the doctor is the one to see most of the time, it would be nice if he had more time to dedicate to our visit. The nurse practitioner really took that time and made both of us feel better this week.
Also, last Friday (technically week 33??) we had a BBQ with people from the program that I work with (ICP, TACIT, ICCATs--take your pick). Unfortunately, LeeAnn couldn't make it (missed you LeeAnn), but it was a fun get together. Everyone met at our place. I grilled the meats and everyone else brought goodies. It was nice to get together outside of Bloomington (much less the office). I had been promising coworkers a BBQ at my place for 5 years (Grad studies, ETS, and these folks). I finally followed through on the promise.
At the end of dinner, everyone whipped out the baby gifts. I told them not to bother, but they never really listen to me anyway :) It was so nice, especially since most had never even met Moon (I keep her locked away). The gifts were great and the company lively.
I finally scared them out of the house when I pulled out the Karaoke. I was looking forward to some rousing duets, but alias, it just wasn't meant to be this evening.
