Week 19
I don't think that we knew what "showing" meant before this week :)
Moon has finally realized that maternity clothes are not just larger sizes. She's moved from a gut, to a large softball, and she's now on her way to a volleyball belly. I don't want to tell her that we are less than halfway in the process. Books says about a pound a week from now on, which means that we can look forward to around 20 more pounds (she's only put on about 10 so far).
Surprisingly, this was preceeded by a healthy regaining of her appetite. She went from eating nothing, to begging her employees to pick her up a sandwich on their way to work :) Moon used to go all day without eating if she was busy at work, now I don't think she goes for more than a couple hours. She says that she wants to diet, but Sammy keeps begging for food. I wonder who's been in my belly begging for food? That would explain a lot.
I do feel for her. She is experiencing the drawbacks of being fat (it's only 10 pounds but it's 99% in her belly), but for her it came on in months, not years. I'm used to it. She's quickly out of breath, she has trouble standing up, her knees are starting to ache, and tying shoe laces has become a chore.
I keep on reminding her that most of this will disappear after the baby's born (ideally), but I'm not sure she believes me. We'll just have to wait and see.
** Next week we are going to feature a picture of Moon's belly. Keep checking back for updates. We are going to do it after Thanksgiving dinner for maximum effect.
